Inches
Almost everything can be measured in inches; hair, shoes, carpets, even cars can be measured in inches. Sometimes time can be measured in inches, "I was an inch away from swatting you!" Even love can be measured in inches, "I love you this much (arms spread wide)!" I always thought inches were a consistent measuring tool.
Rainy, Gray, Cold....Aaaaahh
Today is rainy, cold, and all around looks pretty yucky. But if I look really hard at the clouds, I swear I can see the sun trying to push its way through. That's how I see it, and I'm sticking with it!
Hope you find the sun in your day today!
Thanks for reading!
Life's little pleasures
I have been working on rewriting The Knowing, my second novel. It was actually the first manuscript that I wrote, but Megan showed herself, and the manuscript for The Knowing had to be put to the side. Megan was not a force to be reckoned with!
Birthdays are so wonderful!
Today was my son's tenth birthday. I have six kids, so we celebrate a lot of birthdays each year! I decided to make this one a little more memorable. I kept the birthday boy home from school because he had a dental appointment, but surprised him by not taking him into school after the appointment. Instead, we went out to lunch, picked out his birthday cakes (he chose individual cakes for each person instead of Mom's colors and colors cake this year - kind of a bummer, but what can I say? LOL!), and watched a movie together.
Please check out my interview!
I had a wonderful interview with Don McCauley of The Authors Show. You can watch/listen to it today - and I hope you do!
Thank you!!
Playing hookie...Yeah!
It isn't often that my husband has a weekday off from work. Today is one of those rare days, and its such a double-edged sword. Part of me thinks about all of the things that will not get done (work-wise) while he his home. The other part of me craves this time with him. Luckily, the heart and mind connect and realize that it is far more important and fun to spend the day with my dear hubby than doing work. After all, when all is said and done, I do not know one single person that was leaving this earth wishing for more "work" time.
Spectacular Sunday
Have you ever had one of those mornings when it's hard to wake up, but when you do, you realize that it's a glorious day and no matter what you do during that particular day, it can't help but be lovely? I am blessed with one of those days today. Wow, what a feeling!
The sun is shining and we have nothing wonderful planned - typical Sunday with a little homework and a few errands sprinkled in. Yet still, I can just feel that it's going to be a good day.
Thought provoking Saturday
I like to use weekends as a time of reflection. I think about what has transpired during the week and if I could have, or should have, done something differently.
Here's my thought provoking question for today:
Did I live to my fullest potential and enjoy each day of this week?
And for those of you who read this and think, Fullest potential? Who is she kidding? I barely make it out of bed! - If that is your fullest potential for the days that have passed, then you can honestly say, Yes!
We bombed our glorious moon today
Sometimes I wonder who we think we are - and when I say "we," what I really mean is "our country." I'd like to remove myself from the "we" category for this blog, because I was definitely not in favor of bombing the moon.
We seem to think that anything is fair game. If we can bomb countries, why not the moon? I wonder what the moon did to deserve this bombing. It might have contained water? I suppose in the grand scheme of things, since we don't take very good care of our own resources, our own earth, it stands to reason that we might not take very good care of the moon, either.
Life is about....
What is life about to you? Does it change from day to day? Is life something that evolves around you, or do you create your own life? These are the questions I am asking myself today. I truly believe that we create our own lives. I believe in karma and I believe in fate, and that both are leveraged by how we live our lives.
