A Christmas Story
Tonight I took my children to see A Christmas Story. What an amazing movie this is! Charles Dickens' book comes to life in a new-age animated film with Jim Carrey and Colin Firth. It's really remarkably done. We saw it in 3-D. I will warn you, though, it is not for the faint of heart, and I'd hesitate taking smaller children to see it. The first spirit is very scary looking, and several parts were a little frightening. I would give this film a 4-star review, though - wonderful message and beautifully produced. Truly magnificent!
Vote for Megan's Way!
I had a fabulous time at the SPBE in NYC yesterday! For those of you who stopped by, thank you! I met wonderful people and interesting authors. I was able to pick up a few good books, too.
Today I listed Megan's Way on Wattpad, a site that offers free e-books to readers. Megan's Way is also entered in their writing contest. Please give it a read, and if you feel so inclined, Vote for Megan's Way.
Thanks for reading!

Megan's Way on TV
Last week I was contacted by Karen Allyn, the host of Forward Motion, a cable television show. She's invited me as a guest to talk about Megan's Way, and I am very excited! Since our initial conversation, I've had the chance to chat with Karen, and I have to say, she is a very cool person! I'm really looking forward to meeting her and to doing the interview. The date of the show has yet to be decided, but I'll post it when it's chosen.
I hope you can tune and watch! She show will also be available on-line.
More details to come!
Food for thought: Scenes that move you
When I was interviewed by Don McCauley, he asked me how I was able to convey such raw emotions of the characters in Megan's Way. I told him the truth, and didn't think too much about it until I heard his response. My answer was that on several occasions I acted out scenes before, and during, the writing process. That enabled me to climb into the mind and body of each character and feel what they would have felt in the more emotional scenes.
Halloween
There's something just as wrong with taking your kids out to beg for candy as there is right. I can't explain it, but it does seem an odd, but fun, ritual.
I hope you enjoy the evening!
Reading
I have spoiled myself lately, and it feels wonderful! I don't typically take time to just relax or do something enjoyable other than my writing. My day is typically kids, write, kids, cook, homework, kids, kids, kids, and I fall into bed around midnight to read for a little while. I've taken a little detour from my normal routine lately, and while my children are otherwise busy, instead of running upstairs to my computer, doing dishes, or straightening up, I've been diving into a good book.
